The EB 34 apparatus is designed for tests according to ISO 1817, Determination of the effect of liquids, for testing one surface only.

The apparatus holds the test piece in contact with the liquid on only one of its surfaces.

EB 34 comprises a base-plate and an open-ended cylindrical chamber, which is held tightly against the test piece by wing nuts mounted on bolts. A hole of 30 mm diameter in the base-plate allows examination of the surface not in contact with the liquid. The opening on the top of the chamber is closed by a close-fitting plug.
